Biochar Life - Africa & Asia

Biochar Life empowers 500M farmers to enhance soil, boost yields, and reduce emissions.

**Project Highlights** - Biochar Life's regenerative agriculture impacts 500M farmers, using low-cost equipment to produce biochar, sequestering carbon, and improving soil. - Over 5,000 farmers trained, achieving environmental impact, higher yields, and reduced crop burning emissions. - Average farmer produces 2-3 t of biochar per harvest on 3 acres, ensuring local production without biomass or biochar transportation. **Project Description** Biochar Life spearheads a community-led climate change solution through regenerative agriculture. The initiative spans 500M farmers in developing countries, employing low-cost equipment to create biochar, sequestering carbon, and enhancing soil health. This transformative approach addresses climate change and uplifts smallholder farmers. Biochar production, occurring shortly after each harvest, brings multiple benefits. With an average of 3 acres per farmer, each yielding one tonne of biochar, the process significantly contributes to environmental sustainability. The decentralized model ensures local production, eliminating the need for biomass or biochar transportation. To date, Biochar Life's impact extends beyond environmental gains. Over 5,000 farmers have received training, fostering increased yields, extra income, and reduced crop burning emissions. The project emerges as a beacon of community-driven change, intertwining climate action with local livelihood improvements.
