NeoCarbon Direct Air Capture

NeoCarbon's innovative carbon capture method, utilizing cooling towers and waste heat, aims to capture 1.3 Gigatons of CO2 annually.

**Project Highlights** - NeoCarbon's technology captures 1.3 Gigatons of CO2 annually via cooling towers and waste heat, reducing costs and deployment time. - Leveraging waste heat from existing industrial processes significantly decreases energy usage, improving financial feasibility and lowering the carbon footprint. - The NeoBox, a standalone module, captures CO2 autonomously, with a pilot customer in Japan targeting 20M+ tons yearly. - A 500 t/y commercial plant, featuring eight modular modules, set for completion in 2025, promises scalable and efficient carbon capture. - Collaboration with sequestration partners for permanent CO2 storage aligns with worldwide storage hubs, strategically located in existing industrial areas. **Project Description** NeoCarbon pioneers large-scale carbon capture from ambient air, addressing the challenges posed by traditional Direct Air Capture (DAC) installations. Utilizing cooling towers and waste heat below 200 degrees, the process aims to capture 1.3 Gigatons of CO2 annually, surpassing conventional methods in efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The innovative approach leverages waste heat from existing industrial processes, substantially reducing energy usage and improving financial feasibility. Retrofitting cooling tower airflow not only decreases operational expenditure but also eliminates the need for dedicated airflow creation for DAC, distinguishing NeoCarbon's approach. NeoCarbon's modular carbon capture modules employ a solid sorbent, ensuring flexibility in manufacturing and adaptation to various parameters and cooling tower sizes. The NeoBox, a standalone module capable of autonomous CO2 capture, stands as a testament to the efficiency and scalability of the technology. A strategic partnership with a pilot customer in Japan, set to capture 20M+ tons yearly, showcases the global potential of NeoCarbon's approach. The pilot installation in Germany, scheduled for Q1 2024, precedes the expansion of capture capacity and the completion of a 500 t/y commercial plant in 2025. Post-capture, NeoCarbon collaborates with sequestration companies for the permanent storage of CO2, currently testing storage in concrete. Aligning with the Puro methodology ensures a transparent Measurement, Reporting, and Verification process, emphasizing NeoCarbon's commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable carbon capture practices.
