UNDO delivers enhanced rock weathering projects that permanently lock up CO2, with co-benefits for our agricultural partners, who are seeing crop yield increases of up to 19%. Weathering is a natural carbon removal process that's been happening for millions of years, removing carbon over geological time frames. At UNDO, our enhanced rock weathering projects speed this up, reducing the carbon removal timescale from millions of years to mere decades. To do this, we spread crushed basalt on agricultural land. Basalt has low levels of trace metals vs other silicates, which helps our farming partners, and it also already exists as a by-product across the globe in volumes that can us help reach the billion-tonne levels of removals needed. UNDO has built the foundations to scale to these billion-tonne levels, both through our operational partner model and the development of Newton, our proprietary data platform, which helps track every tonne of CO2 we remove back to the specific basalt source and field the rock was spread on. In 2023, Microsoft chose UNDO to make their first ERW project, following on from Stripe’s inclusion of UNDO within their Climate Portfolio, meaning our projects are meeting the highest of industry standards.
